“And though I sailed with the tide in the morning
Still my heart’s on the Isle of Capri”
With the arrival of Spring I’m starting to get the travel bug and have been dreaming about summer travel destinations. Last year (I know, I know, I’m finally getting around to this!) I revisited the Amalfi Coast with Mr. B and was reminded just how much I loved Capri.I first visited the island back in 2012 and was happy to rediscover these stunning views. One of the best decisions we made this time around was to rent a scooter for the day to explore. We were able to zip around as we pleased, free to do whatever we wanted with our time as opposed to having schedule our time according to bus schedules, etc. With our rented scooter we were given a map to help us get around the island and discover a few points of interest, including two coves if we wanted to get out of the heat and go for a dip in the sea. Warning, we both managed a few cuts and scrapes in the rocky waters, but all in all it was a nice break in our day.We took the chairlift up to Monte Solaro, the highest point of Capri with stunning, panoramic views all around. While Capri is nice, it is a little on the touristic side, so I highly recommend roaming the streets of Anacapri instead. It is such a lovely little town with the cutest streets and a much more authentic feel. While we were based in Sorrento on this trip, we also fit in visits to Pompeii, Positano and Herculaneum and I promise to post about those soon!
Summer will be upon us before you know it, and while I’m not sure we’ll be able to work in quite as many trips, I’m really looking forward to whatever adventures it will bring.
