Paris Neighborhoods: Le Marais

One of my favorite Parisian neighborhoods has always been Le Marais. For several years I lived in the nearby 11th arrondissement, on the edge of the upper Marais, which spans across part of the 3rd and 4th arrondissements. Not only is the Marais a great area to explore Paris history and architecture, filled with buildings that include the National Archives and the Musée Picasso, but it is equally amazing for discovering some of Paris’ best coffee shops, restaurants and shopping, with an ideal combination of culture, food and fashion.

You can enjoy coffee breaks at one of the many coffee shops that has popped up in the area while browsing local boutiques, or enjoy a sunny day outside on a terrace, watching passersby. You’ll find a mix of French brands from Sandro, Maje and Comptoir des Cotonniers as well as vintage shops.

Below, check out some of my favorite scenes from the Marais, along with a list of some of the top sites to see and places to eat!
